November 16, 2021 Message from the MSA Board:
First and foremost, we would like to thank all of our consignors this year. We really appreciate your participation. We know that most of you don’t need to participate in a state sale, but the state sale really needs each one of you in order to be successful. In the years to come we hope to continue to raise the bar so that this sale becomes a premiere Simmental event. We had 31 consignors this year compared to 22 last year.
Here are the high selling results in each category:
- High Selling Open Heifer Lot 18 – $4800 – Consignor Owen Bros. Cattle Co., Adam Owen – Buyer Jeremy Steele, Republic, MO
- High Selling Bred Heifer Lot 1 – $5000 – Consignor Oval F Ranch, Matt and Don Fischer – Buyer John Emmerson, Fort Scott, KS
- High Selling Bred Cow Lot 43 – $2700 – Consignor Curt Rennison – Buyer Hollis and Hadley Day, Marshfield, MO
- High Selling Cow/Calf Pair Lot 50/50A – $4700 – Consignor Bueker Farms, Mary & Kevin Bueker – Buyer Faith Cattle Company, Urich, MO
- High Selling Bull Lot 78 – $5000 – Consignor B-Bar-H Cattle Co., Barry Holst – Buyer Evergreen Hill Simmentals, Edgar, WI
- High Selling Genetic Lots 2A, B & F – $4500 – Consignor CTN Simmentals, Clint Nielsen – Buyer Swing Shift Simmentals, Atalissa, IA
We had 72 lots that grossed $186,130 and averaged $2,586 per lot. That’s 34% more dollars than last year and a 19% higher average. We also sold to 12 states compared to 9 last year and we had 47 buyers compared to 38 last year. We know that last year was a challenge because of COVID, but we significantly beat the 2019 results as well.
Once again, thanks for helping move the sale in the right direction. We hope you are already thinking about how to improve our results next year.
All the best,
MSA Board
